THE SEASONS AND WHAT THEY ARE CATCHING
Summer is the best time of the year to practice sport fishing. This is the time of year for the capture of sailfish, dolphin, marlin skyjack and sierra. The deep-sea fish that is also sought during the winter is cabrilla, pinto bass, snapper, whitefish and yellow tail, which often reaches 40 pounds.

WHO DO WE CALL TO GO FISHING
San Carlos is fortunate to have an excellent
group of Sports Fishing companies that know the Sea of Cortez like the
back of their hand. If it is sports fishing you want, you have certainly
come to the right place:
San Carlos also offers an exceptional
access to the Sea of CortÚs (also known as the Gulf of California) with
two world class marinas. Actually, the Marina San Carlos is the largest
natural marina in all of Latin America. Together, Marina Real and Marina
San Carlos offer over 750 slips – a great way to start a scuba
diving or sports fishing experience.
There are three important tournaments held each year:
1. In July, "El Torneo Internacional de Pesca de San Carlos" is held. It is now in its 49th year
2. Toward the end of August the "Labor Day Tournament" is held, in which trophies are awarded for catches of marlin, which have been known to reach 250 pounds.
3. Annual International Womens Fishing Tournament – usually held in May of each year.
